THE BARD HOUSE
Located on one of America’s most scenic drives, River Road, The Bard House is just the place if you’re on vacation or visiting Bard College. Because you are so close to a Hudson River bridge this location makes it especially convenient for trips into Ulster and Green Counties. Attending HITS in Saugerties? Only 25 minutes away! This charming house with its beautiful hardwood floors, is right on the boarder of the campus and sits back off the road in semi seclusion bordered to the rear by a nature preserve with waterfalls and trails leading down to the Hudson River. The property was formerly part of estate lands where today you'll find many Manor Houses just a short visit away; such as Montgomery Place or Claremont. There are many amenities to being next to Bard, such as their dining facilities, post office, library, tennis courts, gymnasium and pool, just to name a few. But most of all you are near the famous Richard B. Fisher Center for the Performing Arts, designed by Frank Gehry, the renowned postmodern expressionist architect (Disney Hall in LA). And you’re still in a country setting!
Less than 2 hours from Manhattan, our location is conveniently located just 15 minutes to Rhinebeck or Red Hook, famous for their restaurants and quaint shops. Just 15 Minutes from the New York State Thruway. The train station is also about 15 minutes, however we recommend that you drive or rent a car because there are so many events and activities to enjoy near by. Where to begin? AMENITIES:
Fully equipped and up dated kitchen with dishwasher, garbage disposal and compactor, microwave, toaster oven, washer and dryer. Cable TV with the HBO’s. Wireless, high speed internet. Unlimited calling nation wide on wireless phones with voice mail are included. Upstairs 4 bedrooms with new Memory Foam King in the Master Bedroom, new Memory Foam Queen beds in 2 bedrooms and twins in the 4th bedroom/office. For your visitors there is a ½ bath powder room on the first floor. Linens and towels are also provided. There is a new automatic one car garage/door and plenty of parking. Spend summer nights on the screened porch or open deck just off the large living room or cozy up to the warm fireplace in the winter. There is an eat-in kitchen or a formal dining room for your meals.
RATES:
Weekly rates: $1350 [Jan. > April $1000]
Minimum stay of one week is required from Friday ending on a following Friday*
Monthly rates: $4000 [Jan. > April $3000] [DOES NOT APPLY IN JULY OR AUGUST]
Minimum stay is four weeks with a start day Friday, ending on a Friday (other start dates considered)
Saturday start dates apply when the previous booking ends on a Saturday.
Daily rates: $275 (Fri., Sat. & Sun. nights), $200 (other nights) all with a two night minimum (3 nights on holidays)*
*Less than a one week stay are not available, however we may make an exception one week prior to a requested arrival date. At your request, we will wait list you on our calendar.
Rates subject to change and all applicable taxes are additional. There is a one time $100 cleaning fee in addition to any other rates. And a $400 security deposit (additional w/ pets).
Check-in is at 3pm and check-out is at 10 am.
To reserve there is a 50% deposit require. The balance is due 21 days prior to the arrival date.
Cancellation Policy for weekly stays:
Up to 3 weeks prior to arrival – 100% refund**
7-21 days prior to arrival – any amount over & above the 50% deposit refunded**
0-6 prior to arrival – No refund**
A refund is given for each day that we are able to re-book**
** In all cancellation cases a $50 handling fee plus the credit card fees, if any, will be deducted from any refund.
